Making tea and honey wedding favors for Madison and TJ! (Taken with instagram)
West Texas born and raised, currently living in Portland, Oregon. I'm interested in narrative art, patterns & texture and "Memento Mori".
Check out my work at www.killjoypress.comJust got back from North Carolina where my friends Madison and TJ had the most beautiful, perfect wedding. Here’s the guest book I made for them to match their wedding set. If you’re interested, I’d love to hear from you about making handmade invitations or guest books :)

Kristine Joy Mallari, for The Bump-It Mafia Portfolio, screenprint, collage, thermography 2011
If you’re going to be in North Texas this Saturday, pay special attention to what you’re about to read. The Belles of Texas have organized a portfolio of feminine excellence. They are calling the portfolio “The Bump It Mafia,” the bump it hair-do symbolizing their strength in unity. There are rarely portfolios stronger than what these ladies have to offer. The reception of celebration will be held at the Meme Gallery in Rubber Gloves, Denton, TX. Be there or don’t! (If you don’t, tears for years.)

We love Parra, with his vibrant color, curvaceous lines, and eccentric, distinctive imagery, the bold and playful work the Dutch graphic artist has garnered a substantial cult following since it first appeared in the 1990s. Parra’s cartoonlike, hybridized characters and free-form typography have become iconic, while his hand-drawn approach to graphic design has landed him high-profile collaborations with companies like Nike and InCase. For this exhibition, his first in a U.S. museum, Parra is taking over SFMOMA’s second-floor landing with an expansive mural that showcases his irrepressible post-Pop design style.

The Sketchbook Project wandered hither and yon through Idaho and other ne’er (or rather rare) -tread paths before fluttering to a temporary stop on the table tops in The Cleaners at Ace Hotel Portland. The Ske-Pro, as we have never called it before, gathers artist sketchbooks from creatives around the nation, digitizes them for their online archive, shuttles them like a taxi mom all over hell and back, and stores them safe and sound in their Brooklyn storefront, the Art Library. If you’re curious to know more about them, look at the extremely short documentary below.
The Sketchbook Project is incredible, and we are so honored to be a (small) part of it: the sketchbooks are mega-sized Scout Books made in our shop in Portland, OR!
They’re taking 7,000+ sketchbooks on tour all year! You can find future dates and places here.
