West Texas born and raised, currently living in Portland, Oregon. I'm interested in narrative art, patterns & texture and "Memento Mori". I tend to blog/reblog about printmaking, bookmaking and papermaking. You'll also see a healthy dose of color, color history and ink.

No ink or paint. Just blue jeans, white tshirts, and a red dress to make this series of handmade paper. Up for 2 more weeks at Bakery Bar :)
Ariane turned me onto this. The Ault & Wiborg Company, a manufacturer of printing inks and dry color dyes and pigments, was established in 1878 in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Hey Texans and fans of Texas! It Came From the Bayou is going down in Houston TX, April 26th-28th and it’s shaping up to be a killer event. Come check out some prints by awesome printmakers and don’t forget to drop a “Hi!” at the Gamblin table.
I’ll also be driving through San Antonio, Austin, Dallas and Ft.Worth. Do y’all have any print shop recommendations I might be able to check out? Texas is my beloved home state, but I don’t know much about TX printmaking outside of academia. I’m looking forward to tacos, long drives, and floating the river. Texas, I love you.

I wrote a studio note for Gamblin Artists Colors about Monotype. It features work by some of my favorites: Koichi Yamamoto, Paul Gauguin, Camilla Taylor and Nathan Oliveira. If you’re interested, check out the full article here.
Thanks to all who threw out recommendations for my Chicago/Milwaukee trip. SGCI was so much fun this year that I didn’t even mind the cold weather…that much.
My favorite thing about the print community is how willing everyone is to share ideas and process. White Wings Press, Spudnik Press and Anchor Graphics are all inspiring and welcoming shops that I enjoyed visiting. On that note, I’m noticing how many pictures of print shops I have. I’ve been thinking that maybe they deserve their own tumblr page. What do you think? Any snappy suggestions for a blog name that’s not already taken?
Some of the best jazz in Chicago can be heard at the Anchor Graphics print shop. #printmaking #ink (at Columbia College)
Are you going to SGC Milwaukee? If so, you should stop by the Gamblin table and say Hi! :)
I’ll also be taking the weekend before the conference to explore Chicago. Does anyone have any recommendations? Anish Kapoor’s Bean is obvious and on my list for sure. I definitely want to hit up printmaking/art spots, but I’d love to know where the best places to grub are too.
Can’t wait to see lots of friendly faces at SGC!
