Oh yeah, MAPC!
So it’s been over two weeks since MAPC, but I thought I’d share a few pictures anyway. This is the first conference I’ve attended since working for Gamblin Artists Colors so the interactions I had were a lot different from when I was only promoting myself as an artist.

First night started off well as The Print Factory printed and gave away prints at the opening reception. (They printed with Gamblin’s Quinacridone Red and Portland Intense Black relief inks, by the way :)

Glenn and I got inky with visitors to our booth and for the first time ever Gamblin sold apparel. I ordered color-mixing coveralls as giveaways for a raffle, doubting if folks would even be interested, and to my surprise people loved them! (Gamblin will be raffling them off at every conference from now on. We’ll also be sticking them in an upcoming webstore.)

The Bump It Mafia portfolio I participated in last fall was on display in the themed portfolio exhibits. (Mine’s second row, last column) I’m still so proud of my friends who put it together and of all the talented ladies who participated.

I didn’t get to show work in the Open Portfolio sessions this year which is my loss because it was rockin’. Next time, next time…

One of the most exciting parts was during the flight from Cape Girardeau to St. Louis where I got to sit in the co-pilot seat of an 8 person plane. It was one of the few times I’ve stayed awake for a trip that lasted over an hour!

A few of my favorite photos from SGCI New Orleans. This is the last batch and I swear I’ll stop. This was my favorite SGC conference yet and I’m not exactly thrilled about trading in sunny perfection for cloudy-dreary-rainy. I’m happy to be back with Adam and our pup and I s’pose I’m ready to finish the last bit of my egg series. Laziness happens to the best of us…right?
